Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2026 Results

The 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance took place on Sunday, August 16. Judges named a 1935 Duesenberg SSJ Special Speedster Best of Show. Harry Yeaggy of Cincinnati, Ohio, showed the car, and Clark Gable originally owned it.

The win gave Duesenberg its eighth Best of Show, more than any other American marque.

In total, 218 cars competed, including 33 entries from 14 countries outside the United States. The concours also raised more than $4.3 million for charity. That brought its lifetime giving past $50 million.

Monterey Car Week 2026 Auction Results

The auctions broke the record for the biggest week of collector car sales. Hagerty’s tally put the total at roughly $750 million. That compares with about $433 million in 2025 and the previous record of about $471 million in 2022. Reported totals differ slightly by source, depending on when each tally was taken.

More than 1,100 lots crossed the block across five auction houses: RM Sotheby’s, Gooding Christie’s, Mecum, Broad Arrow, and Bonhams. About 76% of them sold.

The three highest sales of the week:

  • 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe: $42.9 million at Gooding Christie’s. Carroll Shelby once owned the car, and it became the most expensive American car ever sold at public auction.
  • 2026 Ferrari Luce “Tailor Made”: $40 million at RM Sotheby’s, in a charity sale.
  • 1996 McLaren F1 GTR: about $34.7 million at RM Sotheby’s.

RM Sotheby’s led the week with roughly $370 million in sales, about half the total. Gooding Christie’s followed with about $159 million, the best result in its history.

Bought a Car at Monterey Car Week? How to Get It Home

If you won a car at one of the auctions, the next step is moving it. Most buyers keep their purchase in the US, which makes this simpler and cheaper than shipping overseas.

Enclosed transport suits most Car Week purchases. Collector, classic, and exotic cars need protection from road debris and weather. Our enclosed car transport guide explains what it includes and what it typically costs.

A carrier can pick up directly from the auction site. That applies whether you bought from RM Sotheby’s, Gooding Christie’s, Mecum, Broad Arrow, or Bonhams. Our guide on auction car transport walks through the paperwork and timing.

Specialty cars need specialty handling. If you bought something rare, our guides on classic car transport and exotic car transport cover the extra care that high-value vehicles require.

Looking Ahead to 2027

The 76th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is scheduled for August 15, 2027. It will celebrate the centenary of Delage’s Grand Prix-winning season. Other featured classes include prewar open-front town cars, 40 years of the Ferrari F40, and a class of Delahayes.

If you plan to buy at next year’s auctions, line up your transport options before the week starts. That way you can book as soon as you win.
